August 17 2011 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Ruidoso Osos 7-1 at Coca Cola Park, scoring 11 hits while limiting Ruidoso to five. Roswell established control with two runs in the first inning and two more in the second before adding two in the fifth and one in the sixth. Ruidoso’s only run came in the fourth inning.
Roswell right fielder M. Mooney went 3-for-5 with three runs and an RBI. Brian Ramirez was 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple and two RBIs, while Clifton Thomas added two hits and a triple. Ruidoso’s Jonathan Means and Chris Juarez each collected two hits, with Means recording the Osos’ lone double.
Andy Wells earned the win for Roswell after allowing one run on three hits in seven innings. He walked four and struck out 10. S. Marchant and I. Hernandez each worked a scoreless inning in relief, combining for two strikeouts.

August 16 2011 The Ruidoso Osos defeated the Roswell Invaders 5-3 after scoring all five of their runs in the third and fourth innings. Ruidoso collected 10 hits while Roswell finished with five. The Osos built a 3-0 lead in the third and added two runs in the fourth to take a 5-1 advantage.
Chris Juarez led Ruidoso with three hits and two runs. Joel Carranza added a double and two RBIs while Eddie Browne drove in two runs. Drew Peterson contributed a triple and an RBI, and Jason Hyland recorded two hits. Roswells Trivon Howard had two hits and two RBIs, while Clifton Thomas added an RBI.
Alan Gatz earned the win for Ruidoso after allowing four hits and three runs, two earned, in seven innings. He walked three and struck out four. The Ruidoso Osos Championship Missi
The Ruidoso Osos Championship Mission continued on Saturday Night. The Osos shutout the White Sands Pupfish 7-0 to complete a two game sweep in the best of three game series. Jason Hyland carried the Osos the entire series with a huge game winning hit in the 9th inning of Game 1. Jonathan Means hit a grand slam which broke the game completely open. Hyland went 4-4 with 3 rbi"s in the 2nd game. The Osos got another shutout from Chris Welborn which is his third of the season. In game 1 Mike Jackson Jr. pitched 8 innings to outlast the Pupfish. Andrew Plotkin came in for a save to hold off the Pupfish. The Pupfish never got started offensively. The Osos defense turned three double plays and was solid in both games. Ruidoso will await the winner of Alpine and Roswell tonight in Roswell. Should Alpine win the two teams will play a 5 game series with the first two games being in Ruidosos and the final three games being in Alpine beginning Tuesday.

August 12 2011 The Ruidoso Osos defeated the White Sands Pupfish 8-6 after collecting 16 hits and scoring in three separate innings. Ruidoso took a 1-0 lead in the first, broke the game open with five runs in the fourth and added two insurance runs in the ninth. White Sands answered with two runs in the third, two in the fourth and two in the eighth but could not complete the comeback.
Joel Carranza led the Osos with three hits, two doubles and two RBI. Jonathan Means and Sean Proni each added three hits, while Chris Juarez had two hits and an RBI. J. Ville reached base five times with two hits and three walks, and J. Hyland drove in two runs. Ruidoso finished with seven total RBI and left 11 runners on base.
Michael Hur paced White Sands with three hits, including a home run, and drove in all three of the Pupfishs runs. Chris De Biasi also recorded three hits, while Brandon Kendricks scored twice and added a hit. White Sands totaled nine hits and left eight runners on base.
Mike Jackson earned the win for Ruidoso after allowing seven hits and six runs, four earned, in eight innings while striking out eight. Andrew Plotkin worked a scoreless ninth to earn the save. Ruidoso took control with three runs in the first inning, added one in the second and scored twice in the third. Alpine’s only runs came in the sixth inning, leaving the Cowboys trailing 6-2 through the final frame.
Villa led the Osos with two hits and two RBI. Drew Peterson also had two hits and scored once, while Kip Masuda, J. Hyland and Sam DiMatteo each drove in a run. August 4 2011 The Carlsbad Bats defeated the Ruidoso Osos 9-0 behind a 14-hit attack and a complete-game shutout from Gil Tussey. Carlsbad scored in five of the seven innings and held Ruidoso to four hits and one walk.
Carlsbad took an early lead with one run in the first and second innings before breaking the game open with three runs in the third. The Bats added another run in the fourth and two in the fifth before completing the scoring with one run in the seventh. Three of Carlsbads runs were unearned following two Ruidoso errors.
Jason Hyland led the Bats with three hits including two doubles two runs and two RBI. David Holcombe scored three runs and had two hits while Greg Perret and Matt Kearnes each collected two hits and two RBI. Aaron Morales and Josh Valle also drove in runs for Carlsbad.
Tussey earned the win by working all seven innings allowing four hits and one walk while striking out five. Chris Welborn took the loss after allowing six runs on eight hits in four innings with three strikeouts and Josue Iniguez surrendered three runs on six hits over the final three innings.

Ruidoso brings the rain. Friday Night the rain followed the Osos from Clovis into Pueblo Colorado. The Invaders and Osos will play a doubleheader 7/30/2011 at Hobbs Park in Pueblo. The cancellation of this game ruined weeks of planning by the Pecos League and Dave Dudley who is the director of Hobbs Field. The Osos have 13 games remaining, other teams have either 11 or 8. The Ruidoso Osos will be put in a tough stretch to end the Pecos League Regular Season. They have had the following games suspended or rained out.

Jason Simone led Alpine with three hits and two RBI. James Kono scored three runs and drove in two while Mike Marion went 2-for-5 with a home run two runs and one RBI. David Valesente Anderson Gardner and Eric Garcia each collected two hits, and Alpine’s 16-hit attack included five doubles and Marion’s solo homer.

Ruidoso scored twice in the first inning, added a run in the third and two more in the fifth before breaking the game open with five runs in the seventh. J. Carranza delivered the biggest offensive performance, going 3-for-5 with two home runs, two runs scored and five RBI. Case Rigby went 4-for-5 with two doubles, three runs and two RBI, while Kip Masuda added two hits.
Welborn earned the win on July 14 2011 by allowing seven hits and four walks while striking out three over nine scoreless innings. He threw 100 pitches, 66 for strikes. Scott Shimek took the loss for Alpine after allowing eight earned runs on nine hits with four walks and three strikeouts in six innings.
Alpines Kyle Wells recorded three hits in the shutout loss, while Tyler Hicks added two hits. Ruidoso also turned three double plays in support of Welborn.
Case Rigby wins Home Run Derby
Case Rigby won the first ever home
Case Rigby won the first ever home run derby at the Pecos League All Star in Alamogordo. Rigby hit 11 home runs in both the first round and the second round to claim the title. The format of the home run derby was each team got two participants which made a total of 12. All hitters got one round with 10 outs and the top two advanced to the finals.

Drew Peterson led Ruidoso’s 18-hit attack by going 3-for-5 with two RBI and a walk. Eddie Browne also collected three hits, while Kip Masuda went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Jerome Dunning added a pinch-hit single and two RBI, and Case Rigby scored twice.
Las Cruces totaled 13 hits, with Harry Williams Jr. going 3-for-6 with two runs and a home run. Juan F. Martinez contributed two hits and an RBI, while Henry Fuentes and pinch-hitter Steve Detweiler also drove in runs. Ruidoso turned three double plays and Las Cruces committed two errors.

Ruidoso scored once in the fifth and once in the seventh but could not close the gap. Juan F. Martinez hit a home run and a double while driving in two runs. Mitch Saum also homered and finished with two hits and one RBI. Clint Stroud added two hits and an RBI and Bo Bell and James Lilley each drove in a run.
Andy Watson earned the win for Las Cruces after allowing eight hits and two earned runs in 6.2 innings. He struck out eight and walked one. Mike Duckworth retired all four batters he faced with two strikeouts and Raphael Anzola worked a scoreless ninth for the save.
Ruidoso starter Courtney Nelson took the loss after surrendering 10 hits and six runs, four earned, in 6.1 innings. He struck out one without issuing a walk. Josue Iniguez finished for the Osos with 1.2 scoreless innings and three strikeouts.

For the first time in Pecos League
For the first time in Pecos League history a game was rained out. The rainout occured at White Mountain Park at Ruidoso. "It started to rain and thunder and lightning and we had to delay the start time, we have a limited window with 4PM start times, if games don"t start by 4:30, then we have to postpone." The other Pecos League Cities are begging for rain, it hasn"t rained in Roswell since November, residents in Alamogordo and Las Cruces don"t remember the last time it rained. "I didn"t know it rained here" says manager Ryan Powell...Game will be made up tommorow as a doubleheader.

Las Cruces built an early lead with two runs in the first inning and added one in the second before breaking through for five runs in the fourth. The Vaqueros added another run in the fifth to take a 9-7 advantage. Ruidoso scored twice in the top of the ninth to tie the game, but Las Cruces answered with the deciding run in the bottom half.
Harry Williams Jr. powered the Vaqueros with two hits and four RBI, including his third home run of the season. Steve Detweiler added two hits and two RBI, while Steve Vranau went 3-for-5. Nothing close slow down the Osos, they are feisting on teams in the Pecos League, undefeated at home and now the Osos took 3 of 4 from Alpine on the Road and beat Roswell again in Roswell. A huge management change has only seemed to bond the Osos closer. The rugged Osos love the New Mexico climate. "I haven"t seen these guys make an error yet" says Dave Jones a Roswell Invaders Fan. Manager Kevin Griffin"s car broke down on Monday Night that is about the only thing that didn"t go right for the Osos who got another quality start from Alan Gatz, home runs from Anthony Phillips, Jerome Dunning and Kip Masuda. Drew Peterson continued his lead off approach with multiple hits. "No one can figure out who is who because their stats are a disaster" says Andrew Dunn. The Osos lost Eddie Brown to San Angelo and Joe Schamaci to the Frontier League. Leo Madrid is believe to be leading the league in apperences although the stats can"t verify this. "He"s pitched every game I have seen them play" said another Roswell Fan. Ruidoso is 12-6, they have yet to play a game against first place Las Cruces or Last Place Carlsbad. Clifton Thomas led Roswell with four hits in six at-bats, including a home run and a triple, while driving in three runs. T. Frazier added two hits and two RBI, and A. Morris homered and drove in a run. Roswell also received two-hit performances from Adrian Martinez and T. Frazier, with Martinez contributing two RBI.

Gorang led Ruidoso with three hits, two runs and one RBI. Chris Juarez and J. Carranza each added three hits and one RBI, while Anthony Phillips went 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI. Kip Masuda contributed two hits, scored twice and drove in three runs. Jerome Dunning added a hit and an RBI in a pinch-hitting appearance.

Billy Page has been named GM of Ruidoso Osos. Clyde Woods has resigned from his position of General Manager of the Ruidoso Osos. Billy has been with Osos since day 1 and brings The Osos are off to a great start at 7-5 and just took 3 of 4 games from Alpine including two 1-0 shutouts. Woods felt overwelmed with the responsibilities of running a team with no night games and no alcohol. I am very proud of Kevin Griffin and the Ruidoso Osos. I feel that without night games and alcohol it would be tough to compete in attendence with hot spots such as Roswell and Alamogordo. I hope baseball works here in Ruidoso. The Pecos League is not concerned with the situation in Ruidoso. There will be a meeting on Tuesday May 31, 2011 to determine who will take over General Manager operations. The Pecos League has numerous groups looking to step in with the great start the league is off to. The Pecos League is still 100% committed to Ruidoso and the Osos will have no problem obligating their schedule..

The Ruidoso Osos outslugged and outlasted the Roswell Invaders 18-13 in front of many new and curious baseball fans. Not only was the game played at 7000 feet elevation the infield was as hard as cement and there was a head wind blowing out to centerfield at around 15 mph. This was the ultimate hitters game Jerome Dunning lead the way for the Osos going 4-5. Drew Peterson had three hits. Leo Madrid threw 3 innings only allowing 1 run picking up the win for the Osos. The Invaders worn Lime Green Pants and Navy Jerseys for the inaugural game. The Osos worn brown jerseys and creme pants on their side. The winds were extreme and caused the two teams to combine for 32 runs. The Pecos League truly lived up to its name of high power offenses are fueled by high altitudes and smaller ballparks. The Ruidoso Osos are pleased to announced Kevin Griffin as the inaugural field manager.
Kevin has played 7 years of pro ball and completes the final move of the front office for the Osos. Clyde Woods selected Griffin to be his field manager, Griffin was set to go to the Amarillo Sox as a bench coach but couldn"t pass up the opportunity to manage.

Where are you from and where do you live?
Roanoke, Va, and I currently live in Laredo Texas. I have been a catcher in pro ball for the last 7 years.
How do you plan on building a team at 7000 feet elevation?
We will attempt to score more runs than the other team.
What do you know about New Mexico and Ruidoso?
It is a great town and a nice place to live and I am excited to be there.
I have never been there.

The Ruidoso Osos are pleased to announce Clyde Woods as general manager for the 2011 season. Clyde is from Truth or Consequences, NM and will bring fresh leadership to the Osos. Clyde be in charge of Osos Operations including Sponsorship Sales, Ticket Sales, Game Day Operations and on field personnel. The Osos will host the first ever Pecos League in their inaugural season.

The Ruidoso Osos might be the most clever team name in the Pecos League and today they unveiled their 2011 uniforms which are Orange/Black/Cream Pants. Their San Francisco Style Uniforms feature solid orange jerseys and their hats are two tone black and orange with the Oso as the Decal.
